Seaway Season to End December 29

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation announced this morning that the St. Lawrence Seaway will be officially closed when the clock strikes midnight on the morning of Friday, December 30.

All ships will be required to be clear of St. Lambert Lock in Montreal by 11:59 p.m. on December 29.

This is the same closing date as the past two seasons.

As of today, shipping is moving smoothly despite low water levels and the hope is that will continue for the next month or so.
